How to use Team Dynamic Labs
Teams, sessions, plans and accounts work the same way whichever instrument you are using. They are covered here. Each instrument documents itself.
Guides by instrument
Each instrument has its own model, its own questions and its own way of reading a result. Those live with the instrument.

Teams
A team is where these instruments do their real work. Create one, invite people, and everyone's result appears together on a shared view — an at-a-glance map of how your team is wired. Teams work the same way whichever instrument the team is using.
- Invite by link, QR, or email — share a join link or let people scan a QR code. Anyone can join as a guest and take the assessment on the spot.
- Live team dashboard — as members finish, their marker appears on the grid in real time.
- Presentation mode — a full-screen view built for projecting in a workshop, with a join QR code right on screen. On every plan, including the free one.
- The facilitator screen — the team's dashboard with every personal lens removed, so it is safe to put on a projector. Nobody's own result and nobody's private reading appears on it, including yours. Only the person who owns the team can open it, and it needs the Team plan and to be switched on for that team.
- Team management — a separate screen for the owner: invite by email, share or reset the join link, and see who has not finished yet.

Running a session
Putting the results on a screen in front of the team is where most of the value is. Two guides cover how to run that session — both written around the Styles assessment today, though the structure carries over. Neither needs an account to read:
- Run your own team session — a 60-minute agenda for a team lead who wants a plan for Thursday. Prep, timed steps, discussion prompts, and how to handle the skeptic.
- Facilitating a session in person — the long version for a practitioner preparing for a room: equipment, room setup, lead times, three timed agendas with the words to use, and what to do when the projector or the wifi lets you down.
There is also a 15-minute warm-up exercise that runs before anyone has taken the assessment, and the Trust Equation, which makes a good second session and has a printable handout.
What a plan changes
One team of up to six people is free, for as long as you like — the live grid, presentation mode, the pairing guides, and results kept forever.
Reading never depends on paying. Your result, your history, the sixteen interaction guides and every public resource are readable whether or not anyone has paid for anything, and a team that stops paying keeps what it has already read.
What a paid plan adds is capacity and the generated tools:
- More than six people on one grid, and unlimited retakes.
- Insight generations — Room Read, Flex Brief and Team X-ray.
- The facilitator screen.
There are also plans for practitioners running sessions for client teams, and for a department putting many groups through at once. The pricing page has the full comparison.
Your account
- Sign up — with an email and password, or with Google.
- Sign in without a password — we can email you a short code to sign in with instead. This is the way in for an account that was created from an invitation and never had a password set on it.
- Your work email — you can verify a work address on your account. It is what lets an invitation sent to your work address find the account you already have, rather than starting a second one.
- Two accounts by accident? — it happens: you took it as a guest, then signed up properly, or you have one account on a personal address and one on a work address. You can merge them, and your results and team memberships come with you.
- Guests — joined from a QR code without an account? You can claim a permanent account any time from the banner at the top of the app, and your result carries over.
- Forgot your password? — use the “Forgot password?” link on the login page and we'll email you a reset link.
- Settings — click your name in the header to edit your display name, change your password, or switch which vocabulary you see.
Frequently asked questions
- Do I need an account to take part?
- Not to start. If you scan a team's QR code you can continue as a guest, take part, and see your result immediately. You can then claim a permanent account to save it and come back later.
- Who can see my results?
- Only you, unless you deliberately share them — by creating a read-only share link, or by joining a team, where teammates see each other's position on the shared grid. Anything you generate privately stays private, including from the person who owns the team.
- Does any of this cost money?
- Reading does not, ever. One team of up to six people is free for as long as you like, and a team that stops paying keeps everything it has already read. A paid plan adds capacity and the generated tools.
- Can this be used to evaluate someone?
- No. Everything here is a development tool and must not be used for hiring, promotion, or performance review. That is a commitment the product makes, not a setting an administrator can change.
- I have two accounts by accident. Can they be merged?
- Yes. It happens easily — you took something as a guest and later signed up, or you have one account on a personal address and one on a work address. Merging brings your results and team memberships with you.
Everything here describes preferred interaction habits, for self-awareness and team development only. None of it measures ability or personality disorders, and none of it may be used for hiring, promotion, or clinical decisions.
