Your data
Last updated 12 October 2026
Team Dynamic Styles is run by Downeast Ventures LLC, trading as Team Dynamic Labs. This page says what we hold about you, why, who else sees it, and how long we keep it. It is written to be read rather than to cover us, so if something here is unclear, write to us and we will fix the wording.
The short version
You take an assessment. We store your answers, work out your working style from them, and show you the result. If you took it as part of a team, the person who set that team up can see your result, and so can everyone else on the team. That is what the team grid is for, and it is the thing on this page most worth knowing before you start.
We do not sell your data. We do not use it to help anyone evaluate you for a job, a promotion or a performance review, and we have built the product so that we could not easily start.
What we hold
What you typed. Your answers to each assessment question, including how long you took on each one. Your name, and your email address if you have an account. If you wrote us feedback, what you wrote, along with the page you were on and your browser’s identification string. If you set up a team, whatever you told us about it.
What we worked out. Your working style and where you sit on the two axes, whether your result is a blend of two styles, and a set of internal quality flags that record whether your answers looked consistent — for instance whether you agreed with almost everything, which affects how we read the result.
What we recorded about your use of the product. When you were last here, how you signed in, and — if you arrived from a link or a search — the referrer, any campaign parameters in the URL, and the first page you landed on. We record this automatically, from a cookie set on your first visit, before you have an account.
What your team exposes. Which teams you are in, and your role in them. The name and result of everyone else on each team, to you and to them.
If you have used the 360 feedback round. The ratings and written comments you gave, who you were asked to rate, and the report produced about you.
Two things we work out about how you answered, which you would not guess. Both apply to the 360 round and both are visible only to us — not to your manager, not to the person you rated, not to anyone on your team.
The first is whether your answers look careless: if you gave nearly everyone the same score, or answered unusually quickly, we record that. It is how we tell a considered round of feedback from one that was clicked through.
The second concerns pairs of people. If you and a colleague both rated each other, we record whether the two of you rated each other more favourably than the rest of the group rated you — a measure of mutual back-scratching. We do it because reciprocal rating distorts a feedback round, and knowing it happened is how we stop a report from being misleading. We are telling you because it is a judgement about you and about a specific relationship, it is kept, and nobody would expect it from reading anything else on this page.
Who else sees it
We use five outside companies to run the product. We do not sell data to anyone, and these are the only parties who receive any of it.
| Company | What they get | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | The database itself, your login, and the relay that sends our account emails | It is where the product lives |
| Vercel | Server logs, which include the email address of anyone we send a message to and are kept for one day, plus anonymous aggregate page statistics | Hosting |
| Postmark | The address, subject and body of every email we send you, kept in their log for 45 days | Sending email |
| Stripe | Payment details, and only for the person who pays for a team. Never a participant’s assessment data | Taking payment |
| Anthropic | Your name and your working style, when a team leader generates one of our written insights | Writing those insights |
The last one deserves a sentence of its own. Three features — Room Read, Team X-ray and Flex Brief — produce written analysis of a team, and to do that they send the team’s list of names and styles to Anthropic’s model, along with any description of the meeting that the team leader typed in. Our agreement with Anthropic is that they do not train any model on it and do not retain it after the request. They process it to produce the text, and that is all.
All five are based in the United States, so data they handle is processed there rather than in the United Kingdom or the European Union.
Why we are allowed to hold it
- Your account, your answers and your result: because you asked us for them. You cannot have a result without giving us answers, and we cannot show you one without storing it.
- What your team can see: because that is what joining a team is. A shared grid is the thing being asked for, not a side effect of it.
- Login codes, rate limits and delivery records: because we have a legitimate interest in the product working, in your account being yours, and in being able to answer “did that email arrive?”.
- Knowing how the product is used: because we have a legitimate interest in understanding whether it is any good. This is the one you can object to without giving a reason.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, some or all of these apply. We will not ask which, and we do not treat people differently by country — if you ask for one of these, you get it.
- See it. A copy of what we hold about you.
- Correct it. If something is wrong, tell us and we will fix it.
- Delete it. Your account and everything attached to it. This overrides anything else on this page about how long we keep things — if you ask for deletion, “kept forever” stops applying to you.
- Object to it, or ask us to pause. Including an absolute right to tell us to stop sending you messages, which we will honour without asking why.
- Take it with you. Your results in a form you can use elsewhere.
Write to support@teamdynamiclabs.com and we will answer within one month. If something is complicated enough to take longer we will tell you inside that month and say why.
We would rather you came to us first, but if you are in the United Kingdom you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, and elsewhere to your own data protection authority.
What we do not decide about you automatically
Your result is produced by a scoring rule from your own answers, and it decides nothing. It does not grant or refuse you anything, it is not used to evaluate you, and no part of this product makes a decision about you without a person involved. The quality flags and the 360 measures described above shape how a report is read; they are not verdicts, and they are not shown to anyone but us.
What we will not do
These are commitments, not aspirations, and the product is built so that departing from them would take deliberate work.
- You see your own result before anyone else does. Your result is yours first; a team’s view of it is a consequence of you joining that team.
- We will not repurpose this for evaluating you. Not hiring, not promotion, not performance review. There is nothing in our system that links your result to any such record, because no such record exists in it.
- Written 360 comments never reach the manager of the person being rated. A subject and their manager see an aggregated report. The raw comments are readable only by the person who wrote them. This is enforced by the database, not by policy.
- We do not sell participant data to employers, or to anyone.
What we do not do
We do not track you across other websites. We set no third-party tracking cookies and load no advertising or analytics script that identifies you. We set three cookies of our own: one to keep you signed in, one that stops us writing to the database on every single page you load, and one that remembers where you first arrived from until you create an account.
If you are not signed in, we record nothing about which pages you read.
How long we keep it
Plainly, because the honest answer is longer than most.
- Your results and history: indefinitely, until you ask us to delete your account. We say elsewhere on the site that results and history are kept forever, paid or not, and that is accurate — it is a promise to you that you will not lose your result, and it is also a long time for us to hold your answers.
- Email delivery records: indefinitely with us; 45 days at Postmark.
- Server logs: one day. Our logs record the address a message was sent to, so that we can answer “did it arrive?” when you ask. Our hosting provider keeps them for a day and then they are gone.
- Login codes: minutes. They are stored hashed and are single-use.
We should be straight about one thing: today, apart from login codes, we do not automatically delete anything. Nothing ages out on a schedule. That is a gap we are closing rather than a design.
Getting a copy, or being deleted
Write to support@teamdynamiclabs.com. We will send you what we hold about you, or delete your account and everything attached to it. Deleting your account removes your results, your answers, your team memberships and your feedback. It does not remove the record that an administrator took an action on your account, because that is our record of what we did rather than data about you.
You can also export your own results from the product at any time, whether or not anyone is paying for your team.
If you took the assessment as a guest and never created an account, we have no way to know which anonymous record is yours, and no way to reach you. The only route to your data is to claim the account — the product offers this, and it attaches your email address to the result you already have. We would rather say this plainly than imply a process that would not work.
If someone nominated you
Our 360 feedback round works by a person naming colleagues to give them feedback. If you were named, we hold your name and work email address, supplied by them. The round is designed so that you can take part through a link without creating an account at all — which means we can hold your details without you ever having dealt with us directly.
We use them only to invite you and to record the feedback you choose to give. You can decline, and you can ask us to remove your details at the address below.
